Aims & Objectives:

This course is to train students all the basic for wines.  At the lesson, students can learn about wines and enjoy a menu of food together with the best matched wines available in the market.

Learning Outcome 2 Know the types, characteristics and styles of wines made from the principal grape varieties and other examples of wines
Learning Outcome 3 Know the key principles and practices involved in the storage and service of wine

Specification:

Examination:

  • A closed book examination that consists of 30 multiple choice questions with one mark each.
  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Passing Grade: 70%
  • For retaking the examination, the cost is at HK$1600.

Medium of Instruction:Cantonese with English and French Terminology

Instructor:

  • Mr. Wong teaches student how to appreciate wines with food, and together with basic wine knowledge, variety of grapes and tasting technique. Different kinds of red, white wine will be presented to the students.  Mr. Wong has more than 30 years experiences on culinary.

Awards:

  • "Attendance Certificate in Basic Wine Knowledge" (Attendance: 75% or above)  Award will be given within 3 months.
